Check out avaf on Art21 where the artists discuss working together while being separated by an ocean.

“We were, in some ways, meant to work together,” says Christophe Hamaide-Pierson of avaf. “Eli is one person; I‘m somebody else. I guess that’s the great thing about collaboration: to have those two differences connect.”

The artist team assume vivid astro focus (@avaf)—Brazilian-born Eli Sudbrack and Paris-based artist Christophe Hamaide-Pierson—describe their unique process of working together while being separated by an ocean.

“I think there‘s a strategy in what we make, which is for everything to become one,” says Eli Sudbrack. “The viewer becomes one with the installation. The core of what we make, it’s not object; it‘s energy.”
